International Classroom
Involving Youth in the Dialogue

It has never been more important to educate our youth about the rest of the world. IVCLA is proud to bring International Visitors into the classroom so that students gain greater global understanding through personal contact.

Manual ArtsManual Arts High School Global Studies students welcomed a group of International Visitors from twenty countries into their classroom to exchange ideas and learn from one another. Each student was matched with an International Visitor for one-on-one conversation. One of the students in the class remarked, "I was nervous at first but I learned that adults like to have fun just as much as kids do."

New friendships were formed during the half-day visit and when it was time to say good-bye many email addresses and hugs were exchanged with promises to stay in touch.

Please contact us for more information about our youth programs at info@ivcla.org

Linking Cultures through Animation

Kazakh animatorAnimators from Zhebe Production Studio in Kazakhstan participating in the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program met with animation artists and studios in Los Angeles to gain first-hand knowledge of animation in the U.S.

Zhebe Production Studio is animation studio in Shymkent that is trying to revive the production of cartoons in Kazakhstan. In 2004, the studio created eight public service announcements (30 second cartoons) as part of a parliamentary election campaign in South Kazakhstan, that were placed locally on Kazakhstan-Chimkent and Otyrar channels.
